About Keckley

The Keckley Company was established in 1914 with its focus on steam and liquid control equipment. Today, Keckley's complete industrial & commercial product line includes ball valves, pipeline strainers, check valves, knife gate valves, fabricated pipeline strainers, float & lever valves, control valves, suction diffusers, and triple duty valves.

Keckley products are found in industries such as bottling companies, airports, steel mills, pulp & paper mills, pharmaceuticals, ships, trucks, nuclear power plants, dams, power generation, petrochemical refineries, manufacturing, hospitals, stadiums, and other commercial applications.

Pipeline Y-Strainers, Basket Strainers, Line Blinds & more

Keckley's industrial and commercial pipeline strainers are designed for a wide variety of applications where protection from foreign matter in a pipeline is required:

Keckley StrainersY-strainers offer a compact and economical means of straining debris from pipelines.
Some types of Y Strainers include:

  • The Keckley Style A and Keckley SSA as well as the Keckley Style SA7 strainers feature a machined groove in both the body and cover for proper screen alignment and to ensure accurate reseating when servicing is required.
  • Keckley Style B is a cast iron Y-strainer for steam, water, oil, or gas where protection from foreign matter in a pipeline is required.
  • The Keckley Style SSB strainers are constructed from rugged 316 stainless steel castings that are machined to exacting specifications.

Basket Strainers

  • Simplex basket strainers are used in piping applications where a greater screen area to pipe area ratio is required.
  • Keckley duplex continuous flow basket strainers are used where the process cannot be shut down for maintenance.
  • The Keckley Style SGFV and SGFVK basket strainers are constructed from rugged carbon steel castings and are machined to exacting specifications. These bodies have raised faced and drilled flanges that are in accordance with ASME B16.5. All flanges come standard with back-faced bolt holes.
  • Keckley Model G is not a type or style of strainer, but refers to a gasket type.
  • The Keckley Style SSGFV and SSGFVK basket strainers feature a basket with an angular cutaway design to allow straight through flow and extremely low pressure loss.

Keckley offers a wide variety of fabricated y-strainers, simplex basket strainers, tee strainers, duplex basket strainers, multi-basket strainers, line blinds, suction diffusers, temporary cone, temporary basket, and temporary plate strainers to fit any application.

Keckley Drip Pan Elbows are for steam service applications to collect and remove condensate. They are typically installed on power boilers and unfired pressure vessels.

Keckley Ball Valves

Ball Valves

Keckley has developed the most contemporary ball valve product line in the industry. Its ball valves are designed to support current and future market demands or requirements.

Ball Valve Types:

  • Fugitive Emissions Service Ball Valves
  • Seal Welded Ball Valves
  • 3-Piece Maintenance Design
  • Unibody Threaded Ball Valve
  • Unibody Flanged Ball Valves
  • Split-body Flanged Ball Valves

Keckley Check Valves

Liquid & Gas Pipeline Check Valves

Keckley liquid and gas pipeline check valves are designed for liquid or gas applications where protection from flow reversal in a pipeline is required.

Check Valve Types:

  • Wafer Body Double Disc
  • Wafer Center Guided Silent
  • Globe Center Guided Silent

Each check valve has advantages and disadvantages over the other, but all three outperform and outlast conventional swing check valves when installed properly

Keckley Knife Gate Valves

Knife Gate Valves

The Keckley Style KGV knife gate valve has a large port which provides a low pressure drop across the valve and is better suited to handle slurries, solids, and other fluid/solid mixtures than average plug valves, butterfly valves, or ball valves.

Applications:

  • Pulp and paper
  • Chemical and petrochemical
  • Power, mining, and waste water
  • Food processing
  • Beverage where shut-off of liquids is required

Keckley Float & Lever Valves

Float & Lever Valves

Keckley float and lever valves are designed to control the level of liquids through mechanical actuation. Float valves are actuated through the attached float ball, float rod, and lever assembly, and do not require any external power source. Keckley lever valves are actuated through the use of some external power source such as manual operation, float boxes/mechanisms, electric motors, or other actuators through external linkage to the lever of the valve.

Keckley has provided float and lever valves since 1962 and remains one of the largest domestic suppliers of float and lever valves. Typical applications include: open or closed storage tanks, process tanks, basins, receivers, condensate tanks, cooling towers, standpipes, feed water heaters, reservoirs, and swimming pools.

Keckley Control Valves

Control Valves

Keckley offers a complete line of industrial and commercial flow control valves to suit a wide variety of applications: air, water, hydraulic, steam, or gas.

Keckley control valves include: internally piloted, pressure regulating, pressure reducing, diaphragm regulating in both single and double seated, back pressure valves, safety & relief valves, and drip pan elbows.

Since 1914, Keckley engineering and manufacturing has worked for industry and commercial building installations worldwide. Keckley products excel in their construction and performance. With the purchase of Klipfel Valves in 1962, there was a combining of engineering talents and features of both valve companies resulting today in this complete line.

Suction Diffuser Style PSD

Keckley Triple Duty Valves

Suction Diffuser & Triple Duty Valves

Keckley manufactures suction diffusers and triple duty valves (TDV) as pipeline and pump accessories. Suction diffusers and triple duty valves provide specialized and unique functions different from other Keckley products.

Suction Diffusers

Keckley Style PSD suction diffusers mount to the suction side of a pump in either a horizontal or vertical position. It is designed to remove any foreign matter that may be hazardous to the pump or other system components, while providing the proper flow conditions to the pump. Where space is limited, the Keckley Style PSD can be used as an elbow (in some cases a reducing elbow) with a built in strainer for easy maintenance and system performance.

Triple Duty Valves

Keckley Style TDV triple duty valves are primarily required on the discharge side of a centrifugal pump in a hydronic heating or cooling system. The Style TDV functions as a shut-off valve, spring loaded silent check valve, and balancing valve.
