Benefits & Features

Armstrong float and thermostatic traps are unique in their super heavy duty construction. Armstrong uses high quality ASTM A48 Class 30 cast iron or ASTM A216 WCB cast steel-normally found in pressure vessels rated to 250 psi (17 bar) or 465 psi (32 bar). Internal mechanisms are made from stainless steel and are heavily reinforced. No brass cotter pins here. Valves and seats are stainless steel, hardened, ground and lapped to withstand the erosive forces of flashing condensate.

The CD-4080 is a durable disc style steam trap designed for high-pressure use. The CD-4080 is engineered to meet the demanding conditions found in power plant applications. The CD-4080 is piped in-line by a 360° four bolt connector block which allows you to install the trap in virtually any piping configuration. Armstrong's CD-80S series disc-style steam traps are designed for medium to high-pressure use. The CD-80S series was engineered to meet demanding conditions found in harsh applications found in power and petrochemical environments.    
       

Benefits & Features

The Controlled Disc (CD) Steam Trap is a time-delayed device that operates on the velocity principle. It contains only one moving part, the disc itself. Because it is very lightweight and compact, the CD trap meets the needs of many applications where space is limited. In addition to the disc trap's simplicity and small size, it offers advantages such as resistance to hydraulic shock, the complete discharge of all condensate when open and intermittent operation for a steady purging action.

Armstrong offers a complete range of TC Series traps to handle the special requirements of clean steam systems. Different body configurations are available for choice of piping and ease of cleaning.

The TC Series traps are constructed from 316L stainless steel for corrosion resistance and are highly polished for cleanability. Compact and lightweight, the traps are self-draining to minimize contamination. They are easy to install and can be easily disassembled for cleaning.

Armstrong Series TS Radiator Traps are offered in both angle and straight patterns. The TS-2 has a balanced pressure thermostatic element with a high-quality multiple-convolution bellows. It is ideal for draining equipment such as steam radiators and convectors, small heat exchangers, unit heaters and steam air vents. The TS-2 comes with a strong, cast bronze body and a stainless seat. The valve and seat are renewable in-line.

The TS-3 is a heavy duty, wafer-type trap for the drainage of all types of steam radiators and convectors. Its wafer design is well suited to systems prone to water hammer, which may damage conventional bellows-type units. The TS-3 is repairable in-line and has an all-stainless steel wafer element.

Dual Orifice steam traps are ideally suited for use on shipboard steam systems. The Dual Orifice steam trap is intended to perform with shipboard steam systems where steam is created from demineralized or purified water. The water used onboard does not contain minerals and impurities typically found in land-based steam systems. Armstrong's DOT-7000 Series Dual Orifice steam traps are intended for condensate drainage applications recognizing a constant steam supply and return pressure, and also condensate loads that are not variable.
