Spirax Sarco Flow Computers and Processors

Flow Computers

Spirax Sarco's flow computers and processors convert signals to display flow rate, total flow, mass flow, pressure and temperature, and density compensation for saturated and superheated steam. Spirax Sarco flow computers and processors can assist in monitoring energy use and plant efficiency.

Benefits & Features

The Spirax Sarco M800 series steam flow computer is normally installed with any of the following Spirax Sarco pipeline units: Gilflo, ILVA, Spiraflo, DIVA, vortex or orifice plate assembly. Depending on the application, it may also be supplied with a differential pressure transmitter, pressure transmitter and / or a temperature transmitter.

Spirax Sarco Transmitters

Spirax Sarco provides a wide range of pressure and temperature transmitters specifically matched with our flowmeters to provide the inputs necessary for mass flow measurement in steam, and energy measurements in water.

Benefits & Features

The Scanner 2000 steam mass flow transmitter takes its inputs from a primary flowmeter, (Gilflo or ILVA) through impulse lines. It converts the differential and static pressure into a corrected mass flowrate of saturated steam, which is accessible via the RS485 Modbus link or optionally via a 4 - 20 mA signal.

Spirax Sarco TVA Meters

Spirax Sarco tva flowmeter

TVA Meter

Target Variable Area flowmeter (TVA);

  • Simple to install in confined spaces
  • Measures the complete steam flow range
  • High performance with low cost of ownership
  • Easy to use

Benefits & Features

Unlike alternative technologies the TVA measures the complete flow range capturing all steam used. There is no need for multiple pipe entries making installation quicker, lower cost with fewer potential leak paths. The TVA can be installed in most confined spaces as it doesn't require long lengths of uninterrupted pipe to ensure accuracy.

Insertion Turbine

Spirax Sarco insertion turbine flow meters

Insertion Turbine

Spirax Sarco's insertion turbine flow meters provide significant cost savings for line sizes from 3 to 80' without compromising performance. With high accuracy, wide turndown, and a unique low-mass rotor design without welded joints, the insertion turbine flow meter gives you the benefit of 40 years of practical experience. The unique insertion design measures liquids or gases, including steam, and can be installed without line shutdown.

Benefits & Features

The RIM10 is hot tap compatible making it versatile for installation into virtually any application; ultimately it avoids the expense and unnecessary disruption to critical processes often associated with installation of flowmetering equipment. The sensor is easy to install and maintain in pipelines ranging from 3" to 80" (75 mm to 2000 mm) under full flow conditions without process shutdown.

Vortex

Spirax Sarco Vortex meters

Vortex VLM10 Flowmeter

Vortex

Spirax Sarco Vortex meters have no moving parts, rugged construction, and microprocessor-based electronics for high accuracy in many flow metering applications including liquids, gas and steam. Vortex flow meters provide accurate measurement with lower maintenance, and lower total cost of ownership than other flow meter technologies in line sizes 1" to 80".

Benefits & Features

A compact all in one solution, vortex technology is an excellent flexible option for measuring a wide range of fluids including saturated and superheated steam, single-phase liquids and other gases. The vortex flowmeter's robust, welded design, ensures no leak paths for safe operation and minimal maintenance which is particularly suited to utility steam measurement.

Ultrasonic

Spirax Sarco ultrasonic meters

UTM10 Unltrasonic Meters

Spirax Sarco Ultrasonic Meters

Ultrasonic meters clamp-on to the outside of the pipe and measure fluid through the use of ultrasound signals. They do not come into contact with the fluid and therefore do not create pressure drop, or contaminate fluid.

Ultrasonic meters have a low total ownership cost due to low installation and maintenance costs.

Benefits & Features

Easy to install and maintain, the UTM10 provides accurate and repeatable measurement readings on clean fluids and liquids with small amounts of solids or aeration, without line shutdown or pipe penetration.

Electromagnetic

Spirax Sarco electromagnetic flow meters

Electromagnetic UniMag

ElectroMagnetic Flowmeters

Spirax Sarco electromagnetic flow meters measure all electrically conductive liquids (>0.8 uS/cm) with and without solids in the fluid including water, wastewater, slurries, chemicals, and even in mining applications.

Benefits & Features

UniMag and DemiMag flowtubes are suitable for full pipes and are normally calibrated for volumetric flow in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards, complete with a Calibration Certificate. The DeltaKit is supplied as a flow sensing assembly for use with existing weldable pipes, or as a calibrated spare set of sensors for an existing UniMag.

Thermal Mass Flowmeters

Spirax Sarco thermal mass flowmeter

Thermal Mass Flowmeter

The MTI10 insertion thermal mass flowmeter and the MTL10 inline thermal mass flowmeter provide accurate mass flow measurement of clean, dry gases using constant temperature differential sensing for fast response and low flow accuracy. Constant temperature differential is achieved by changing the power to the sensor. The amount of power applied to the sensor is proportional to the mass flow rate of the gas being measured. The MTI10/MTL10 is virtually immune to changes in temperature and pressure over a wide range of flow.

Benefits & Features

The MTI10 Insertion and MTL10 Inline Thermal Mass Flowmeters measure clean, dry gas and air applications over a wide range of flows.
