Design & Operation

Spec & Tech Sheets

Sterlco Micro Series Water TCU
Micro Series Compact TCU

Benefits & Features

Sterling's Micro Temperature Control Unit combines compact size and low price, and comes standard with 1/2hp and 3/4hp (horsepower) pumps and 3, 6, 9 kW heater. The Micro Series Temperature Control unit has more standard features, more flexibility, and more value. It occupies only about 1.5 square feet (0.14 square meters) of floor space. Sterling's Micro Series has an off-the-shelf 1/16th DIN processor-based PID controller, plus dependability you can always count on from Sterling.

  • 250 degrees F (121 degrees C) maximum operating temperature.
  • NEMA 1 electrical enclosure
  • Motor Circuit protector
  • Independent safety thermostat

Royal Series Compact Temperature Control Unit

Design & Operation

Spec & Tech Sheets

Sterlco Compact Royal Series TCU
Compact Royal Series TCU

Benefits & Features

Sterlco's Royal Series Compact Temperature Control Unit comes standard with 3/4 to 7.5 hp (horsepower) pumps and 9 to 24 kW heater. Its state-of-the-art design features simplified internal cast or optional non-ferrous fluid circuit with 40% fewer connections and 80% fewer mechanical parts. It also features a higher efficiency pump for higher flow rates at lower pressure. The result is dramatically enhanced water flow for superior temperature control.

  • Front-facing, liquid-filled "to and from process" pressure gauges for enhanced accuracy and "at a glance" monitoring.
  • Fully accessible NEMA 12 electrical enclosure meets NFPA 79 standards with branch fusing, disconnect switch and single-point connection.
  • Innovative two-fastener, quick-release panels for ultra-fast internal access.
  • Solenoid and pressure relief valve located externally for easy maintenance and added safety.
  • Vertically mounted, higher efficiency centrifugal bronze-fitted pump with seal flush line.

Royal Series Upright Temperature Control Unit

Benefits & Features

Sterling's Royal Series Upright TCU comes standard with 3/4hp, 1hp, 2hp, 3hp, 5hp, 7.5hp and 10hp pumps and 9 to 48kW heater. Their upright systems are designed to deliver precise, automatic, and reliable control of processing temperatures up to 300°F (149°C) and highly responsive M2B+ Microprocessor Controllers provide the fastest and most precise response, sensing and controlling temperatures within ± 1D2°F (± 0.28°C).

  • Fully accessible NEMA 12 electrical enclosure meets NFPA 79 standards with branch fusing, disconnect switch and single-point connection.
  • Vertically mounted, higher efficiency centrifugal bronze-fitted pump with seal flush line.
  • Innovative two-fastener, quick-release panels for ultra-easy internal access.
  • Front-facing, liquid-filled "to and from process" pressure guages for enhanced accuracy and "at a glance" monitoring.
  • Solenoid and pressure relief valve located on exterior for easy maintenance and added safety.

Royal Series Optical Disk Units

Design & Operation

Spec & Tech Sheets

Sterlco Royal Series Optical Disk Unit
Royal Series Optical Disk TCU

Benefits & Features

The Royal Series Optical Disk Unit can be configured in either four or six zones that include moving and stationary mold half zones and sprue and punch zones. Standard features include: 3kW heaters air purge, manual bypass and 3/4" female NPT to and from process connections terminated in ball valves. The liquid-filled water supply pressure gauge, NEMA 12 electrical enclosure and rotary, through-the-door disconnect switch are also standard.

  • Process pumps available in .67 hp or 1.5 hp.
  • 1/4" x 9/32" orifice cooling valves.
  • 3/4" female NPT common cooling water in and cooling water out connections terminated in ball valves.
  • Liquid-filled water supply pressure gauge.
  • 1/8" male NPT common air purge connection.

Positive/Negative Pressure Temperature System; 9012 Series

Design & Operation

Spec & Tech Sheets

Sterlco 9012 Series Positive Negative Pressure TCU
Positive/Negative Pressure TCU

Benefits & Features

Sterling's Positive/Negative Pressure Temperature Control Unit comes standard with 2hp and 9kW heater. Stay in production while you wait to fix a leaking mold. Troublesome cooling circuit leaks in processes can result in serious production loss. The leaks may be due to small stress cracks, which leak when under pressure. Sterling's solution is that their temperature controllers use a liquid Venturi to draw water through mold. Precise temperature control is provided by the operation of a microprocessor controller that activates a heater or a cooling water solenoid as required.

  • Adjust easily via operation of an external hand operated valve handle.
  • Quick interchangeability reduces downtime by getting you back into production.
  • Three phase 9 kW electric immersion heaters are suspended vertically for longer heater life with maximum temperature of 180°F (82°C).
  • Mechanical safety is provided by a high-pressure relief valve.
  • Designed for easy substitution for any standard water temperature controller. It uses the same hose and piping connections and does not require external air source.

SEU Series Economical Water TCU

Design & Operation

Spec & Tech Sheets

Sterlco SEU Series Water Temperature Control Unit
SEU Series Economical Water TCU

Benefits & Features

The SEU Series Water Temperature Control Units provide an economical solution to your temperature control needs. Limited in price, but not in features, these units have all of the safety features that you have come to expect. Standard features include vertically mounted Incoloy® immersion heaters, bronze-fitted centrifugal pumps from 3/4 hp to 7 1/2 hp, solenoid valves up to 3/4" NPT, branch circuit fusing, and automatic vent sequence.

  • NEMA 1 Electrical Enclosure
  • Centrifugal Pump
  • Incoloy® Heater
  • Solenoid valve
  • Adjustable low pressure switch

Heat Extractors

Design & Operation

Spec & Tech Sheets

Sterlco Heat Exchanger
Heat Extractor

Benefits & Features

Sterling Heat Extractors give constant flow at all times, and automatically cool as necessary to hold the temperature which you have selected. The high flow rate of the Heat Extractor is intended to develop turbulence in the water as it passes through your process. This high turbulence can substantially boost the cooling rate from process when compared with laminar flow normally found.

  • Increase cooling rate.
  • Eliminate condensation (sweat) by achieving excellent cooling at temperatures just above dew-point.
  • Provide Zone Control for each machine without need to restrict the flow to achieve a certain process temperature.
