| The HPD Series Flow Meters
represent accurate, affordable, positive displacement flow
metering. A primary feature of this flow meter series, is the
ability to maintain consistent accuracy despite changing
viscosity conditions. The solid construction and excellent
dynamic response make the meters well suited to the measurement
of oils, greases, fuels, solvents, polyurethanes, brake fluid,
skydrol, as well as other non-abrasive lubricating fluids.
The HPD Series is offered in two models. The
HPDA features high strength 6061 aluminum bodies providing a low
cost design for monitoring non-corrosive liquids, under
operating pressures up to 5000 PSI. Also available in 303
stainless steel bodies is the HPDS model for operating pressures
up to 5000 PSI.
Principle of Operation
The HPD Series Flow Meters are positive displacement gear flow
meters similar in design to gear pumps, however, the principle
of operation is reversed. Instead of the gears driving the
medium, the medium drives the gears. A non-intrusive hall effect
sensor detects movement of the gears. As each gear tooth passes
the sensor, a small discrete volume of liquid is measured and a
square wave pulse is produced. The resulitng pulse train is
proportional to the actual flow rate. |
